Its nice to think to all gardens as a container, where to pour and preserve some important things, some treasures and our dreams still to realize. It would be obviously fantastic if everybody could independently shape all this, planning and building their own garden, but in reality we often do not have time, possibility, courage, necessary synthesis capacity and artistic qualities, culture and knowledge of the sector.
Often there are a lot of ideas, sensations, desires, images, that we would like to put on stage, but we do not know how to arrange all these in a single body. This is the designer’s task: to collect data and information, to elaborate this information and to organize, clean, put in order, give new shape, applying a planning method,.....that is to say: designing the garden.
We want to underline the importance of the customer (the one that will "live" the garden, not the designer neither the constructor!), of the implicit resources of the "place" (character and soul of the place that will be "interpreted") and finally the importance of the designer’s work of direction, we will make it with astuteness and competence (in order to valorize all the existing resources), with order and seriousness (in order to consider and analyze the information collected), with creativity and imagination (in order to interpret and give new artistic shape).
For years, with hope and doggedness, I’m involved in this extraordinary adventure that is often wrongly underestimated by the mass, and it is mistreated, considered a make-up of the built, but which is actually a noble expression of culture and civilization.....
